    Serving the people of Southwestern Alaska, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital is a 50-bed general acute care medical facility. Fully accredited by JCAHO, services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging.

    Well Child/Immunization Coordinator
    Position Summary
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating YKHC EPSDT/Well Child and immunization activities with village and hospital services, YKHC referral departments, and other educational organizations in coordination of state and federal organizations.
  • Responsible for EPSDT/Immunization program design, development, management, quality assurance, evaluation and reporting. Track progress of EPSDT exams, referrals made, and referrals completed.
  • Collect, interpret, analyze and present data in various healthcare areas including performance measurements, clinical outcomes and costs and have knowledge in preparing datasets to be used for reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with training of Community Health Aides and Practitioners (CHA/Ps) in the delivery of EPSDT exams and immunizations at the village level.
  • Coordinate with CHAP Field Supervision to ensure the involvement of CHA/Ps in the regular delivery of EPSDT exams. Provide supervision of program case managers as well as ancillary staff.
  • Provide field supervision within scope of practice to CHA/Ps trained in performing EPSDT exams and administering immunizations.
  • Give presentations pertaining to the well child/immunization program.
  • Assist in village, hospital and external correspondence regarding immunizations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal agencies and all contractual agreements.

    Well Child/Immunization Registered Nurse Case
    Position Summary:
  • Train Community Health Aides and Practitioners (CHA/Ps) in the delivery of Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis & Treatment (EPSDT) exams and Immunizations at the village level.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, tracking, quality assurance and evaluation of the Immunization and EPSDT programs and their components.
  • Travel to the villages to provide on-site instruction and support to CHA/Ps trained in performing EPSDT exams and/or in giving immunizations.
  • Give presentations on Immunizations/EPSDT as appropriate.
  • Assist in the delivery of EPSDT and Immunization instruction during Health Aide training and CHA/P Continuing Medical Education (CME).

    Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in health sciences or Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Public Health or health administration and three years experience with progressive supervisory or staff management skills. Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis & Treatment (ESPDT)/Well Child/Immunization experience preferred.
  • Three years experience in a health promotion/health education field. Six months to a year of experience in supervisory and staff management. Preferred experience in the following: case management, RPMS/ database management, grant and budget management, working in a cross-cultural setting and/or rural Alaska setting, experience as a trainer or educator.
  • Must have computer experience and intermediate or above skills using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Access). Must be adept with RPMS and its modules within 3 months of hire. Work in a typical office, hospital, and village clinic setting. Requires some travel to villages via small plane in sub-arctic conditions, moderate lifting of equipment, occasional long working hours.
  • Knowledge and experience with Pediatrics preferred. Prefer experience in case management, teaching, working in cross-cultural settings and knowledge of the Community Health Aide Program. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English.
  • This position is responsible to supervise the vaccine distribution technician, administrative assistants and RN case managers. Must do yearly evaluations, 90-day evaluations, and must take disciplinary actions as needed. Must ensure all corporate policies and procedures are followed, and that all staff members have up-to-date employee files.Supervisory experience a plus. Will assist in direction of support staff. May direct staff in Community Health Aide Program Director’s absence

    Well Child/Immunization Registered Nurse Case
    Position Qualifications:
  • Diploma or AAS for RN, prefer BSN
  • 2 years of positive work history as RN.
  • Must have current licensure in State of Alaska
  • Current BLS , recommend ACLS and PALS
